NEW MODIFIER – PO (Outpatient
Service Furnished at an Off-Campus Provider-Based Department)
Modifier “PO”
is to be reported with outpatient hospital services furnished in an off-campus
provider-based department of a hospital.
Starting from
Jan 1st 2016 we can report this PO modifier.
The “PO”
modifier should not be reported for
1) Remote locations of a hospital,
2) Satellite facilities of a hospital, or
3) ED (emergency department).
